Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga course, level 1   with Madhuri

In this course 10 session course you will be guided through a series of asana (postures) with specific  attention on alignment and internal awareness. This is a foundation course for beginners, or for those wishing to deepen their current understanding and experience of correct alignment, breath and being guided by ones inner wisdom. We will begin each class with the chanting of sanskrit mantras before moving onto asana and pranayama (breathing techniques), to increase our awareness of our inherent breathing patterns. We will conclude with meditation and savasana (relaxation).

Hatha Yoga course

A continuation of the Hatha I Course, we will go deeper into all aspects of the practices given. In this class we will focus on Sanskrit chanting, asana, pranayanama, mudra, bandha, meditation, an introduction to Ayurvedic principles and yogic philosophy and the chakras. Awareness from the 'witness perspective' and the intention of focusing our experience of yoga in relation to daily life will be the theme throughout this course.

In this course we will be looking at all the foundation material from levels I & II and begin to see how we can create our own sadhana/practice. A private session with Madhuri will assist you in compiling your individual sadhana to meet your personal goals and direction in life. With self-enquiry, awareness and compassion we will be expanding on the complexity and depth of the asana and pranayama practice from the two previous courses.

Satyananda Yoga Nidra Course - Level 1   with Yogachaitanya

An ancient tantric meditation developed for modern times by Swami Satyananda. Done lying down, thirty minutes practice of Yoga Nidra, is the equivalent to four hours of  deep sleep in terms of rejuvenation and regeneration experienced on all levels of our being. The result is a focusing of the mind, balancing of the emotions, revitalisation of energy as well as the relaxation of the physical body.
Each session of this course will cover one of the stages of the practice, so that an in-depth knowledge is gradually developed to allow an expansion of ones experience of relaxation, focus and rejuvenation. You will be introduced to the infinite potentials that this practice can open up through instruction and discussion, gaining clear insight into how Yoga Nidra can benefically change your life.

Hatha Yoga & Ayurveda course

Ayurveda is the most ancient and comprehensive healing science in existance today. It recognizes that every being is an individual and it gives us the tools to accept responsibility for what we create in our lives physically, mentally and emotionally in order to return to balance and harmony.
In this seven session course Ayurveda and Yoga are shown to be totally complementary, being the 'two sides of the same coin'. We will be looking at the various 'doshas' or constitution types to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves in our hatha yoga practice and in our lives. We will be looking at our yoga practice from an Ayurvedic perspective and learning which yoga practices will bring us the greatest sense of balance and which ones will create more disharmony.
You will learn the basic principles of Ayurveda and how season, diet, lifestyle, age, climate, personality and mental attitudes can create health or disease. The classes wil incorporate both discussion of Ayurvedic principles and Hatha Yoga practice.
